The inconsistent convictions of our society laid bare in that.

We submit ourselves to masters more powerful than our government every day we punch in. There's no denying that authority over success and failure, starvation and security, is far more powerful than our government has been in our lifetimes - at least when it comes to how it affects our lives (we'll ignore for the moment what our government has done elsewhere in the world.)

Vox hoping we'll see worker's rights better codified? Fat chance of that, I reckon - the DoL barely enforces its own current lackluster regulations. I love the article, but Vox is barking up the same tree we leftists have been for a long time - and we haven't gotten anywhere in this country.

The last time really good things happened in labor, our forefathers were fighting de facto wars against their capitalist overseers to ensure the right to strike, organize, fair wages and time off. Some of those things *we don't even really have anymore, even if the DoL says we do.*
