National Coming Out Day
To those who have taken this day to come out as gay, lesbian, bi, or trans, I offer my best wishes that you get to do so at as little cost (in all ways) as possible, my admiration, and my thanks for helping make the world I live in a less stupid one.

To those who think, as I do, that Coming Out Day can include all the forms of sexuality that can offend people whose business it is none of, I direct your attention to my userinfo if you did not already know that I am part of a happy, long-lasting, committed three-person tuple.

Very cool; best wishes for all concerned. I did know that you're part of a triad (never heard the word 'tuple' before) - plenty of people are, and for those who can make it work, it seems to work great.

"Coming Out Day can include all the forms of sexuality that can offend people whose business it is none of"

Oh yeah; no doubt. However, it would be an unwarranted stretch to assume it includes all the forms of non-standard identity that can offend people whose business it is none of, which may have little or nothing to do with 'sexuality'. Having come out of the closet on that once, with highly unsatisfactory results, there's no frickin' way I will ever do that again, and I seriously warn others in the same circumstances (of whatever stripe) not to be fooled into thinking the world is ready to accept their non-standardness.

It's not, okay? It's just not. People won't burn you at the stake for it, no, but they will 'other' you for it in all the ways until you want to change your name, leave town, and have no contact ever again with anyone who knows. So don't be a damn fool: if it's nobody's business, then it's nobody's business.
