Well duh. A truly realistic media portrayal of pregnancy and post-partum would cause the birth-rate to plummet like a rock - it's a horrifying nightmare of Biology. There's a very good reason why all the men hastily leave the room when the moms start swapping True Tales of the post-coital phase of making new people.

Those celebrities all have cooks, nannies, housekeepers, personal trainers and wardrobe/makeup consultants. They pour a fortune into maintaining their appearances, because their appearance literally is their fortune. If they had to do everything by themselves like the rest of us, on the same kind of budgets and work-schedules the rest of us have, they would look every bit as bloated, exhausted, frumpy and depressed during the peri-natal period as the rest of us do.
