“Hell is other people”
The Open Office as bad idea

I've wondered how much lower salaries employess would tolerate to get their own sound-proofed offices, or just their own offices.

It goes without saying that the link has a redundant auto-play video.

It took me a minute to parse that link. I think of "Open Office" as a word processor program. It took me a whole different way when I realized it was about open offices not "Open Office."

I cannot imagine being in an environment where every computer has a sound for every action. It must be terrible annoying.

That's the polite term. "Panopticon" is too obvious.

i get that some thing that seem wicked obvious, unlike the fact that open offices are distracting germ factories, aren't actually true, but if something seems obvious, wouldn't you at least STUDY it before implementing it everywhere?

I think this goes to show that open offices were never about productivity and creativity, just pure cost savings.
