True Believers
44% of White Evangelicals Claim Trump Has Strong Moral Character. Since these are the people who believe moral is a sex word, I am not surprised that they are willing to overlook things like building his career on fraud and routinely stiffing the people he has promised to pay. The amazing part is that his aura of success and willingness to express their shared hatreds more openly than most politicians do enables them to ignore the dirty sex stuff.

Personally I think it's about time they were sued for falsely claiming to be christians.

How anyone of that faith; or any faith at all could have voted for him is beyond my understanding.

That's a can of worms we probably shouldn't open. More people who identify as Christians would want to sue those who don't believe that the really important part is stamping out Teh Gay. (You know, like Jesus.)

Oh him... who listens to him these days?

Well, you have to understand, until Bob Jones University was about to lose federal funding, the Bible clearly said abortion WAS NOT MURDER, plainly and infallibly and there's no mistaking it. Then, since "We want the right to discriminate based on race in 'Christian' colleges" isn't a good rallying cry, abortion became MURDER, plainly and infallibly and there's no mistaking it, via exassegesis - pulling something out of one's ass, and calling it "exegesis".

Because they slapped the label "Christian" on it, it helps pull in the rubes, but the high muckety mucks (who don't believe in all this crap anyway) know that the point isn't being biblical or Christian - it's to gain power for the "conservative" movement.

And Trump was a better choice in their fantasy world than Hillary, so that automatically made Trump a good-enough Christian.

If he were a Democratic candidate, his divorces, his bragging about sexual assault, his connections to the mob, his love of money, would all be obvious disqualifications, and the Republican candidate would be a Good Christian.

I agree. By "strong moral character" they mean "anti-abortion" and willing to let Christians discriminate against whoever or whatever they disagree with, such as gays, Planned Parenthood, etc.
