Electile dysfunction  
I guess I knew all along that, no matter who won, the country would be bitterly divided (split down the middle like a tuchus, as a friend of my mother’s would say), and now I’m on the resistance side. As Radley Balko said, "Whatever Trump does or doesn't do in the next four years, we've learned a lot about white America tonight. And it's depressing as hell." To the millions of mean, stupid white people who voted for Trump, don’t come crying to me when he treats you the way he treated the people who trusted him to pay them.

I think we're already seeing how this will play out. Trump and cronies won't do anything tangible for his voting block - except take away their health insurance. But he'll enable them to feel powerful by abusing others, in the name of no longer needing to be "politically correct." And he'll at least try to reinforce their position as the highest status among the poor-and-hopeless.
