People who think they can redefine goulash/gulyas to have pinto beans and macaroni have not even slightly a leg to stand on when it comes to the purity of their own food terms.

Feh. I would wish that Bistro E. Europe was still open so they could have Julia and Zdravko's gulyas, but they don't deserve it.

I resolutely avoid saying "the best" about foods. All that happens is hours of inconclusive arguments. "The best Italian beef"? You didn't hear it here.
But there's a next level of super achievers, with styles. The best style of pizza? The best style of BBQ?? no way
And chili is in that category.
(And Mrissa is completely right about goulash, except we're talking about Texans here . . . )
