Bloom’s first book, The Occult Experience and the New Criticism (1986), was greeted with a review claiming that it “mentions every orifice except the arsehole from whence [it] emerged”.

Possibly the reviewer thought the author was Harold Bloom.

I have long suspected that Harold Bloom is like that because he's fictional on his grandfather Leopold's side.

As usual with these sorts of articles, the author seems to think that only those in the humanities qualify as academics.
