Happy Loving Day!  
50 years ago today the Supreme Court decided the appropriately named case of Loving v. Virginia, banishing the primitive tribal taboo that forbade marriage between people who could plausibly be put into different boxes under the fraudulent category of “Race.” A few years ago the late Mildred Loving said that she hoped she would be a precedent for same-sex marriage, and she has been. Oh, and we won gender; number is next.

The motto on Virginia's license plates reads "Virginia is for lovers," a dubiously-chosen sentiment considering that the most loving couple in Virginia history, both by nature and by name, were booted out of the state by force of law.
