Being a Sadly Rabid, attempting to hijack the Hugo awards explicitly in the name of white supremacy, and insisting in your official capacity as a Baen editor that non-Nazis aren't *real* skiffy fans is making "a sizeable and positive difference in the science fiction community"?

Yikes.

Citation needed. She publishes people who do that sort of thing, but I don't believe she does.

In reverse order:

3. ("not real fans"): I'm not linking to her piece of shit guest post on white nationalist Sarah Hoyt's blog, but Scalzi did and dissected it in fair detail. For context, this is from 2014: Weisskopf is referencing the Sadly Rabids at their height, a few months before they would metastasize into "gamergate" and a couple of years before they started branding themselves "alt-right". Those are the dogwhistles you're looking for, and she employs them liberally.

2. ("hijacking the Hugos in the name of white supremacy"): Participated enthusiastically in the Sadly Rabid campaign. Volunteered as a nominee for the neo-Nazi pieces of shit to use to stuff the ballot with.

1. ("Being a Sadly Rabid"): See 2.

Weisskopf is not a good person.

Also a spammer. I had to write to Baen's IT provider to get removed from her mailing list, TWICE, when they started sending me neo-nazi diatribes. And got in a three-way e-mail argument with her and a hapless sysadmin about whether or not I really wanted to unsubscribe.

Yikes.

There's so many dirtbag asshole companies whose reaction to CASL and even the toothless-and-stupid US-yes-you-CAN-SPAM act is to egregiously violate it and demand that you sue them if you want them to obey the basics of the law. I am surprised Baen is one of them, even given their current literally-neo-nazi management - I thought even white nationalists had BASIC STANDARDS.

(PS: if anyone let Toni Weisskopf know about your spam complaint, they are themselves a spam-enabler. At no time should ANYONE ever tell a spammer which of the addresses on their list are complaining; the existence of a complaint is proof that the list is dirty and the spammer should be permanently disconnected, or, if you can't manage permanent disconnection, at least banned from your service.)
