Once only she agreed to be a con GoH — at Wiscon. Her GoH speech burned the place down. Everyone who was there remembers it, but she didn't give Wiscon permission to reproduce it.

Aw, hell.

But yes, I'll raise my glass... she wrote some amazing works. The True Game is an amazing world for folks that like pulp adventure (for that, follow Peter's adventures starting in King's Blood Four - the others are more philsophical), and while I don't know that I agreed with her (which sometimes annoys me when I'm reading fiction), it was clear she had passion for many of her beliefs, and an interesting vision for how the universe ought to be. (Or, maybe I read too much into her fictional philosophizing.)

I'll confess, I'm a pulp adventure reader - a lot of her later works don't have the same enjoyment for me, but they are very good, very well structured, and very well thought out.
