Sportsball
There are two philosophies of football: air warfare and trench warfare. I am of the former party: For me the ideal game is 80 passes, 80 points, last team with the ball wins. Last night I had the good fortune to be asleep whilst the Cardinals & Seahawks played the other kind: a 6-6 overtime tie. Of course, a Sports Illustrated writer was enraptured by it, calling it “hard-fought actual football.” I think it’s the sort of thing Donald Trump should be sentenced to watch.

Watch? Not play?

I watched the Vikings lose their first game of the season, and kept wondering where the pods were. This was not the team I've seen in the other five games. Also, there were five turnovers in the first quarter, and the Vikings managed to get a whole three points out of the three they forced.

Apparently the only remarkable thing about the game was the 11-3 score at the half, the result of the Eagles having their first successful 2-point conversion of the season.

On passing vs. running, I tend to agree with you. While the Vikings have become more effective as a running team (even without Adrian Peterson), I miss the long ball.

Insofar as I watch football, I agree with you. I grew up watching Daryle Lamonica, the "Mad Bomber."
