Arthur D. Hlavaty - From both sides now
From the Oval Throne of Pope Guilty I
It was either in your comments or Yuki Onna's that the debate raged about whether traditional publishers still proofread authors' work for them, as she wants. And I think one of the messages here that is very, very clear is that the publishers are still pretty sucky at figuring out what will sell. Shame on them, and good for her. She might well have missed the crest of popularity of that genre if she was still waiting for them to pick up one of her books - and instead she's helping drive it higher. Shades of the situation with SF way back when.
